Episode 2: Technology, Lighthouses, Classic TV, Movies in the 2000s, and Carpentry
This video features the answers from episode 1 followed by the questions for episode 2.
Episode 1: Scaling Back
Instead of jumping full-force into the daily collab style, we’re going to try to build up to that with the goal of that format beginning September 6, 2009. In the meantime, I’m still going to present 10 questions one week and the answers the following week. If you want to play along, you can either leave a screened comment on the video with the questions you are answering or make a video response to that episode. When I give the answers, I’ll score any participants regardless of method of play.
Pilot Episode - Accepting Auditions until September 6, 2009
If you want the full rules and details for Smarter Than the Average Bear, please visit the About page before commenting here.
The pilot episode or initial round of 10 questions is now available for watching on YouTube. If you want to audition to be a contestant on the show, post a video response to that clip. Video responses will always be screened to cut down on spoilers. I’ll contact the 5 top scoring candidates to ask them to be featured players on the show and send an invite to join this site as a contributor. Contestants will upload their videos here rather than at YouTube each week so that I control the distribution of clips. I may try to edit the clips, adding intros and outros or I may try different edits to see how to make the show more compelling. If you have comments, suggestions or ideas for questions, please leave comments on the Saturday or Sunday episodes of the show.
Auditions will remain open, but after September 6, 2009, please post a video response to the next Sunday question episode to be considered. This website should also feature a standing roster of featured players, their scores, their strike count and similar data for contestant candidates so you can see who the next featured player might be when one is eliminated.
I’m looking forward to finding out who is smarter than the average bear!
Tommy, your host
